Community Legal Aid Society, Inc. (CLASI) Executive Director Daniel Atkins has been named one of Delaware’s “most influential people” in the law for 2023 by The News Journal.
Dan was recognized for CLASI’s efforts to increase access to justice for vulnerable Delawareans who need civil legal help but can’t afford an attorney, like domestic violence survivors seeking a protection from abuse order or families facing unjust eviction.
This recognition is a collective one—a product of tireless advocacy by CLASI’s talented staff who every day are working side by side Delaware’s most marginalized people.
Dan joined CLASI in 1990 and has dedicated his legal career to advocating for underserved Delawareans, handling cases on behalf of parents who lost their children to the child welfare system, and a variety of affirmative civil rights cases on behalf of individuals with disabilities, including individual and class actions. He has served as Executive Director since 2015.
