On April 13, the Delaware Healthy Mother and Infant Consortium honored CLASI with the 2021 Dr. Kitty Esterly Community Health Equity Award. This award recognizes an individual and an organization that goes the extra mile to put better health in reach of everyone, no matter how much money they have, their race, or the language they speak. CLASI’s Medical Legal Partnership staff work hard for the well-being of mothers and children in Delaware, for the health of the community, and for health and racial equity.
CLASI’s first MLP was started in 2013 with the Division of Public Health to support high risk pregnant women where and when they receive prenatal care. Since that time, CLASI’s MLP has established partnerships to support primary care patients, homeless veterans, mental health consumers, victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, and residents on the east side of Wilmington. We continue to fight for civil rights, economic and racial justice, for marginalized community members throughout Delaware.
